About Design Meets Data

Design Meets Data collects some of my writings about how Mechanical Engineering, Design, and Higher Ed. relate to Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and other computational things. Its posts cover a range of topics, including:

• Research: Informal overviews of interesting and unique papers, conferences, or people that do cool work at the intersection of Design and Data; in these posts I try to illuminate complex connections between fields by writing about them as simply as I can.
• Teaching: When teaching my classes, often a textbook or other resource doesn't capture what I need simply enough; in these posts I try my best to encapsulate that nugget for use by others.
• Advice: Students frequently ask me for advice on a range of matters; in these posts I share what I know (for whatever it happens to be worth).
• Guest Posts: Sometimes the best people to explain new ideas are the ones that came up with it; in these posts I open the floor for others to contribute what they know best.
